A message from Christopher Eanes...

Never before in history has choral music been a more vibrant, engaging, and relevant art form. One in ten Americans sings in a choir, the highest rate of participation of any art form in the United States. At the Cathedral Choral Society, a full 30% of our singers are under the age of 35, proof that this art is only growing stronger.

One of the core missions of the Cathedral Choral Society is to inspire and promote singing in the schools. We do this because participation in choral music is not only proven to foster academic excellence, but it also correlates with a higher level of volunteerism and community engagement. In short, choirs benefit communities.

The Cathedral Choral Society has a history of excellence dating back to 1941. Now, as one of the nation’s largest and most prominent choirs, the Cathedral Choral Society is attracting renewed attention through groundbreaking commissions, meaningful collaborations, and diverse programming. This year alone we will premiere four new works (three by leading women composers), release a brand-new commercial recording, and offer the stage to more than 300 young people from all around the D.C. area at our annual high school choral festival.

As we discover unexplored artistic avenues in this new chapter of our history, I hope you will consider supporting the Cathedral Choral Society this holiday season.

Christopher Eanes,
Executive Director

Why support Cathedral Choral Society?

Support from individuals keeps the Cathedral Choral Society strong and vibrant, and allows us to present thrilling concerts each season. Donations from individuals cover approximately 24% of annual expenses and support our artistic and education programs. Individual donor support allows us to rent the Cathedral for our concerts, hire an orchestra, send teaching artists into schools, hire vocal coaches to work with chorus members, purchase music, and much more.

Give today. Any amount you give will be gratefully received and recognized.
